There he is again
Same old time same old door
Dragging in behind
His heart across the floor

He gives the room a view
And anyone who looks his way
All the things that love can do
To a fool who threw it all away

He’ll raise her spurn to his lips
A thousand memories go along
Her name is whispered on his breath
As he sits there all alone

I’ll raise some memories of my own
(I’ve) had more than my pride to swallow
It don’t ease a memory
And it never drowns the sorrow

So…I can’t throw stones
I ‘m only two bar stools away
I can’t call him down
For the same mistakes I’ve made
I share in his regret, misery and loneliness
I can’t call him down when his loves gone cold
No I can’t throw stones

See his grip upon the bar
He can barely hang on
I watch his will just fade away
Until it’s finally gone
They shake their heads as he goes tryin to keep from fallin down
I just turn my head away
I don’t make a sound

I can’t throw stones
I ‘m only two bar stools away
I can’t call him down
For the same mistakes I’ve made
I share in his regret, misery and loneliness
I can’t call him down when his loves gone cold
No I can’t throw stones
